3 Books That Completely Changed The Way I Write

Welcome back to another Monday experiment!

Earlier this week, I started researching a post titled: how to outwrite AI and what I thought was a 1500-word letter quickly ballooned into a 3000-word mess. So unfortunately, we’ll have to get back to that topic next Monday.

However, I received an email from a subscriber a few days ago that sparked another idea for this week’s experiment.

Cameron wrote to me about his struggles with writing:

‘[I struggle] with expressing myself clearly to people. I find it always a slog to write even a simple email, with the final piece either being extremely dull and formal or a complete spewing of thought spaghetti.’

He continued:

‘I think that my writing ability is so poor, even in cases where I have put so much effort. But I must be misunderstanding some basic rules of English. I have subscribed to your workshops to resolve this but am curious to know what is a good place to start for someone like me? Should I focus on grammar or start with writing micro essays?’

In other words, Camron wants to know if it’s better to start learning basic composition skills first or simply jump into a writing project and figure it out from there.

This is a fantastic question because it mentions a point that I’ve forgotten to clarify in my micro essay post and my clean writing workshop.
