The reading framework I kept private for 8 years (and how to use it)
For the past 8 years, I’ve lived a parallel life.
I started making YouTube videos when I was 17, sharing my self-education journey as I grew. But alongside this public-facing work, I was also developing a theory of reading that I eventually turned into my honours thesis. And without knowing it at the time, this theory has informed every aspect of my work online, including this newsletter.
So, in this Monday deep dive, I’ll lay out the foundations of this theory called: Amorous Reading and convince you that this isn’t just a static piece of literary theory, but a framework to look at your self-education journey as a whole. And for me, that’s what theory is for: it’s an encounter that breaks our patterns, allowing us to see the world anew.
